The Hilltop Commercial Centre in Bramley, Leeds is a multi-unit commercial property owned by Gaunts Commercial Properties. This installation represents Gaunts' second major collaboration with ACT, following the success of the 275 kWp system at Springfield Mills in Farsley.

Completed in June 2024, the project involved the installation of 484 solar panels strategically positioned across ten different roof aspects - a complex design challenge that required careful analysis of each roof area to determine the optimal panel layout, orientation, and tilt for maximum energy yield. ACT used Esdec mounting hardware throughout, with SolarEdge Technologies inverters and optimisers providing panel-level performance monitoring across every section of the array.

The 215.38 kWp system is expected to cover around 40% of the site's total electricity consumption. For a multi-tenanted commercial property where numerous businesses are operating simultaneously throughout the working day, that translates to a substantial reduction in overall energy costs, savings that benefit both the landlord and the tenants who occupy the site.

Since commissioning, the system has delivered strong results. The solar arrays have been consistently providing a significant proportion of the site's daytime electricity, reducing demand from the grid and insulating the businesses at Hilltop from the impact of rising energy prices.

The Hilltop project, combined with Springfield Mills and now The Bostock Building, underscores the long-term partnership between Gaunts Commercial Properties and ACT. Having seen the financial and environmental returns from their first installation, Gaunts have continued to invest in solar across their portfolio, a clear endorsement of the value that well-designed commercial solar PV delivers.
