This project was not only technically complex but also uniquely sensitive, given the
Grade I listed status of York Minster and its significance as one of Europe’s most
important Gothic cathedrals. ACT brought a level of professionalism, technical
expertise, and collaborative spirit that was both formative and essential to the
project’s success, working to a demanding set of technical requirements.
From the outset, ACT demonstrated a real sensitivity to and understanding of the
architectural and conservation challenges which were defined in the project
specifications and employer’s requirements. Their ability to design and implement a
bespoke PV system that respected the historic fabric of the building while delivering
cutting-edge renewable energy performance was exemplary.
