Thornton-Cleveleys

6 kWp and 27kWh Battery Storage

We were delighted to work alongside Heva Energy on this residential project, delivering a high‑performance solar and battery system designed to give the homeowner long‑term energy independence, reduced electricity bills, and protection during power outages.

This homeowner in Thornton-Cleveleys wanted a complete home energy system, one that would generate clean electricity during the day, store it for use in the evening, and provide peace of mind during grid outages.

Associated Clean Technologies installed 12 all-black solar panels, delivering a 6 kWp system that is expected to generate around 4,575 kWh of energy annually. The sleek, all-black panel design was chosen for its clean appearance on the roofline, and bird protection was fitted to prevent nesting beneath the panels - a practical addition that helps maintain system performance and protects the property over the long term.

For energy storage and home backup, we specified a Tesla Powerwall 3 with an expansion pack and Gateway 2, providing an impressive 27 kWh of battery capacity. This allows the homeowner to store surplus solar generation for use during the evening.

The Tesla equipment also provides partial home backup in the event of a power outage, keeping essential circuits running when the grid goes down. Beyond that, the system opens up the option of charging the battery from cheaper overnight electricity tariffs - a smart way to maximise savings during the winter months when solar generation is naturally lower.

It's a system designed to work hard in every season, combining strong solar generation with intelligent storage to give this household real control over how and when they use their energy.
