Yeadon

This Yeadon property presented an ideal layout for solar, with two well-oriented roof aspects offering strong potential for energy generation throughout the day.

ACT installed 16 all-black solar panels split across both roof aspects, creating a 7.20kWp system that is expected to produce around 4,932 kWh of electricity per year. The dual-aspect arrangement means the system isn't dependent on a single period of peak sunlight, it generates steadily from the morning sun on one side through to the afternoon on the other.

The panels were secured using Esdec mounting hardware, a system we specify regularly for its engineering quality and flexibility across different roof types. Paired with an EcoFlow inverter and 15 kWh of battery storage, the homeowner now has the ability to capture, store, and use their own solar energy around the clock.

During the summer months, a system like this can comfortably cover the majority of a household's electricity demand. In winter, the battery storage plays a key role, storing any solar energy generated during shorter daylight hours and supplementing it with off-peak grid electricity where needed.

It's a practical, well-balanced system that delivers year-round value without dominating the roofline, and a great example of what can be achieved on a typical residential property.
